If you need to issue a refund to a client for any reason, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your PayPal account at paypal.com.

  2. Find the transaction you wish to refund.

  3. Click on Full Refund or Partial Refund, depending on your needs.

PayPal Payment Processing Fee Refunds

PayPal will refund the percentage portion of their fees for both transactions but will retain the fixed fees. In the US, there is a $0.30 fee retained by PayPal for each refund.

You can look up the fixed fee for your country here.

PayPal Protection for Buyers and Sellers

When using PayPal through Artwork Archive, most users are eligible for PayPal's buyer and seller protection in case something goes wrong. Review PayPal's security and protection FAQ for more information. Terms and conditions vary by country, so be sure to check your country's specific terms.

Updating Sales Records in Artwork Archive

After issuing a refund, update the corresponding sales record in Artwork Archive to ensure that the artwork no longer shows as "sold."

Note:

PayPal Processing is a Premium Feature and is not available on Artist Apprentice or Collector Starter accounts. You can upgrade your account at any time by going to Account in the left-hand menu.
