Add an External Payment Link as an Alternative Purchase Option

Offer buyers the option to purchase directly through an external payment link in addition to Artwork Archive's invoice flow.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

In addition to using Artwork Archive invoices, you can provide buyers with the option to purchase directly from your external sales platforms.

By adding a purchase link to each Piece Record, buyers can choose to click the "Purchase" button on your Public Profile and be redirected to the external link you provided.

How to Add a Purchase Link

  1. Navigate to Artwork in the left-side menu > Pieces

  2. Select the Piece you want to add a sales link to

  3. Click Edit under the artwork title

  4. Scroll down to the Public Info box

  5. Check Make Piece Public to display the piece on your Public Profile

  6. In the Link to purchase piece field, enter or paste the full URL of your sales page (e.g., your Stripe page, artist website, or gallery website)

  7. Click the blue Update Piece button to save your changes

What Your Buyers Will See

Now when buyers click "Purchase" on your Public Profile, they'll go directly to your external sales page.

Tip:

Test the link after adding it to make sure it directs to the correct page.

What Happens After Purchase?

Since the transaction happens outside Artwork Archive, you'll need to manually update your records:

  • Mark the Piece as sold

  • Be sure to include the buyer in your Contacts (if you haven't already included this buyer in your Contacts) so you can track their purchase history for your records

Important Note:

Unlike Artwork Archive invoices, external purchases don't automatically update your inventory.

To Remove a Sales Link:

  1. Navigate to the Piece record and click "Edit"

  2. In the Link to purchase piece field, select and delete the URL

  3. Click the blue Update Piece button at the bottom

The "Purchase" button will no longer appear for that piece on your Public Profile.
