How to Download and Share Your Original Artwork Image Files

Download the high-resolution image files stored on your Piece Records, or share them through a Private Room or Inventory Report.

Your original image files are the full-resolution photos you uploaded to each Piece Record. Artwork Archive stores them exactly as you uploaded them, so when a gallery asks for a high-res file, a printer needs a press-quality image, or a publication requests artwork for print, you can pull the file straight from your account instead of digging through your hard drive.

You will see these files called Original Image Files on a Piece Record and high-res image files in Private Room settings.

How to Find and Download Original Image Files in a Piece Record

  1. Navigate to Artwork > Pieces in the left-side menu

  2. Click into the Piece Record containing the image you want

  3. Scroll to the bottom left of the record and click Original Image Files to see every image on that Piece, including the primary image and any additional images

  4. Click Actions next to the image you want, then choose an option:

    • View opens the full-size image in a new browser tab

    • Download saves the original file to your computer or device

    • Copy URL copies a direct link to the file, which you can paste into an email or message

    • Share sends the file to a Contact or by entering an email address

Did you know?

Your download file is sized exactly as you uploaded it. Artwork Archive does not compress or resize your original file for download, so the quality of your download depends on the quality of the file you uploaded.

How to Share Original Image Files Through a Private Room

Turn on one setting and everyone you send the room to can download the full-resolution file for every Piece in it.

Note:

  1. Navigate to Artwork > Private Rooms in the left-side menu

  2. Open the Private Room you want to update, or select + New Room to create one

  3. Scroll to the Viewer Permissions panel

  4. Turn on Allow downloads of high-res image files

  5. Select Save Changes

The Image Files section of the Inventory Report setup, showing checkboxes for including original file URLs for the primary image and additional images.

Important Note:

This setting applies to every Piece in the room. Anyone who has the Private Room link, and the password if you set one, can download those files.

How to Include Original Image File URLs in an Inventory Report

  1. Navigate to Reports/Docs > Reports in the left-side menu

  2. Select New Report > Inventory Report

  3. Scroll to the Image Files section

  4. Check Include URL for the Primary Image original file, Include URLs for the Additional Image original files, or both

  5. Finish building your Inventory Report and click Generate Report

The Viewer Permissions panel in Private Room settings, with the Allow downloads of high-res image files toggle turned on.

Important Note:

These options add a link to your original image files for each Piece in the report. Only use them if you want to share your original high-res image files.

What Resolution Should My Artwork Images Be?

Artwork Archive stores your image exactly as you uploaded it and is downloaded the same way. That means the quality of anything you download or share depends entirely on the file you put in.

  • Resolution: At least 3000 pixels on the shorter side (for example, 3000 x 4000 or 4000 x 3000)

  • File format: JPG and PNG work best

  • File size: Up to 30MB per file

If a file you downloaded is smaller or blurrier than you expected, the original upload was likely low resolution. Upload a higher-resolution photo to that Piece Record to replace it.
